My pants are missing 11/14/14

Jacob woke up in the morning excited to start a new day. He got up out of his bed to go to the bathroom when he went past his chair and saw something. Something was missing.
"My favorite pants are gone," he said to himself.
He searched high and low for those black jeans. They had a whole in the left knee and ragged edges on the bottom. You could tell he wore them everyday because of its dingy material. Jacob ran down the stairs to his mother.
"Mom, mom," he said franticallly.
"Yes, what's wrog," she asked.
"My pants, they are gone," he said. "Did you have them? I can not find them anywhere. I looked all over my room and they are not there. You know I can not leave this house without those pants on."
"Take a deep breath son," his mom said while patting him on the back. "We will find them. I personally did not do anything with them. Yesterday, I sat them on the left side of your bed so you could hang them up when you get home."
"Well they were not there when I got home mom," Jacob said.
Fustrated, Jacob stormed out of the house and went to the dumpster to see if his pants were in there. As he walked towards the dumpster, he saw an old lady in her yard getting set up foir a yard sale. Not paying close attention, Jacob walked past her and went to the dumpster. He started to throw things out of the dumpster, but his pants weren't in there. He turned around to go back into the house when he spotted something familiar in his neighbors yard. He looked closer and there they were, his favorite pair of jeans.
Jacob ran over to the old ladies yard.
"Excuse me ma'am," Jacob said politely.
"Yes little boy, what do you need," she said. "Don't you see me getting ready for something."
"I am sorry to interrupt you but those jeans in your hand are mine," he said. "I will like them back."
"These can not be your jeans," the old woman said. "I found these outside on the street by that car over there.
She pointed to Jocob's fathers car.
"Yeah, that is my dads car," Jacob said. "I do not know why they were out there but they are actually mine so can I have them."
"No you can not," the old woman said forcefully. "You are just going to have to buy them from me before anyone else does."
"Buy them from you, why," Jacob asked.
"I am having a yard sale and I am selling these jeans," the old woman said.
Upset, Jacob left her house and went to his mother.
"Mom, I found them," he said.
"Really, great," his mother said.
"There is only one problem," Jacob informed. "The old lady across the street found them and now is going to sale them at her yard sale today. In order for me to get them back I have to buy them from her."
"Do those pants mean that much to you," his mother asked.
"They are my favorite pair," he replied.
"Don't you think its time to find a different pair of pants," his mother asked.
"Maybe, I will think about it," Jacob said.
Jacob went up into his room to see if he really wanted to buy those jeans back from the old lady across the street.
"I think its time to find a different pair of jeans," Jacob said.
He went downstairs and out the door to the old woman's house across the street.
"You can have those jeans, I do not want them anymore," Jacob said.
"Are you sure," the old woman said. "They are only $20.00."
"Many menories with those jeans but it is not worth it anymore," Jacob said.
